Widersacher aller Liedermacher - WARUMANED?
The opponents create something like avant-garde, refined snuff-blues and occupy a space that one didn’t even know existed. Their music meanders between dark foggy landscapes and sun-drenched moods with a surprising lightness and especially live, grooves waft through the hypophysis with Woodstock vibrations. Five guys, too many instruments, and honest stories in Bavarian dialect. Stories like images of childhood, women, beer, and vegetable broth, about emancipation and stepping into the unknown. And above all, the sound of the gentle breeze from the quietly buzzing, roaring, endless Upper Palatinate hinterland.

Review from MUH Magazine (Issue 53) of the album "As Weda," released in 2024
"The opponents of all singer-songwriters are five musicians from Würzburg, originally from various regions of Bavaria and Southern Germany. They actually formed for a cabaret program by lead singer and lyricist Matthias Wolf. However, it then became self-sufficient. In 2021, they won the Heimat-Sound competition in Oberammergau and previously won the young culture award in Würzburg. And yes, one can understand why. The airy mix spread over 9 tracks of feather-light folk and reggae, chanson, psychedelic, dialect pop, and jazz is highly captivating.
The instrumentation and the spoken word singing remind a bit of Haindling. The celebration of simplicity, which also resonates from the title of the opening instrumental "Bankl in da Sun,” speaks to Kofelgschroa, and the Volksmusik playfulness of the instrumentals recalls the Munich wedding band. And one suspects: similar free spirits are at work here. And optimists. “As Leben is goud, so wie es is” (Life is good, just as it is) it emphatically states in the nine-minute closing piece. Well then…” (Jürgen Moises)
