The metal titans Mastodon are returning to Europe in the summer of 2026 for an extensive series of festival appearances and headline shows, solidifying their status as one of the most influential and uncompromising bands in modern metal.
Mastodon has redefined heavy music for over two decades with a sound that is both technically fearless and emotionally overwhelming. With multiple GRAMMY® Award nominations, critically acclaimed albums like Leviathan, Crack the Skye, The Hunter, Emperor of Sand, and Hushed and Grim, as well as a reputation as one of the most powerful live bands on the planet, Mastodon continues to push creative and sonic boundaries like only they can.
The Europe tour in summer 2026 will see the band performing on iconic festival stages and at their own headline shows across Europe and the UK. In Germany, the band will be in Saarbrücken (June 16, Garage), Dortmund (June 17, FZW), Hamburg (June 22, Docks), Berlin (June 25, Huxleys Neue Welt), as well as at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.
The GRAMMY® Award-winning band Mastodon has steadily evolved into one of the most influential, inimitable, and iconic rock bands of the modern era. Since their emergence in 2000, the Atlanta quartet has shattered both sonic and thematic boundaries with an unclassifiable, undeniable, and uncompromising vision that is unmatched in music. This vision was manifested over the course of canonical albums such as Leviathan, which made Rolling Stone's coveted list of "The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time." Following the groundbreaking Crack The Skye [crowned by Time as one of the best albums of 2009], they landed three consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with The Hunter [2011], Once More 'Round the Sun [2014], and Emperor of Sand [2017]. From six career nominations, they received a GRAMMY® Award in the "Best Metal Performance" category for "Sultan's Curse." They are the rare creative force whose music can be felt everywhere – from Game of Thrones to Adult Swim, The History Channel, and DC Comics movies, to Coachella and Bonnaroo. Notably, they supported the Hirschberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research with a version of "Stairway To Heaven" in honor of their late manager Nick John.
The band reached another critical high with their ninth studio album Hushed and Grim. With the GRAMMY® Award-nominated single "Pushing The Tides," it marked the band's third #1 debut in a row in the Billboard Hard Rock Albums charts. It appeared on over a dozen year-end lists in 2021, with Rolling Stone raving: "We get it all – from some of the catchiest rockers the band has ever done to some of their most awe-inspiring epics." In 2024, they embarked on a massive arena tour with Lamb of God to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Leviathan, with both bands subsequently collaborating on the single "Floods Of Triton," which received widespread critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Forbes, Kerrang!, Pitchfork, Revolver, and beyond. Recently, they were honored as guests of the New York Metropolitan Opera for its celebrated production of Moby Dick, in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the similarly-themed ‘Leviathan.’ As they continue to evolve and take rock to new heights, they remain forever the same unpredictable, groundbreaking beast – Mastodon.
