New York Voices

The New York Voices are considered one of the world's best vocal jazz ensembles. Their repertoire spans a stylistic arc from pop to R&B to bossa nova – a chameleon quartet that constantly discovers new sound colors. After 38 years of Kim Nazarian (soprano), Lauren Kinhan (alto), Peter Eldridge (baritone), and Darmon Meader (tenor) recording music, touring, and spending their musical lives together, they will close this chapter at the end of 2026 and dedicate themselves to their solo projects. The concert on May 1 is part of their farewell tour through the USA, Europe, and Taiwan, marking the last opportunity to experience the quartet in Hanover – this time accompanied by their own jazz trio.

The bonus during the International A-cappella Week: On May 2, the New York Voices will offer several workshops in Hanover before they take part in a very special line-up at the closing concert on May 3.

About New York Voices (USA) Since their founding in the mid-1980s at Ithaca College (New York), the New York Voices have continuously expanded the boundaries of vocal jazz and secured a firm place in the international music scene through their extraordinary stylistic versatility. Their distinctive sound arises from the combination of brilliant solos, sophisticated harmonies, and a touch of New York attitude. With an impressive discography, inspiring collaborations, and numerous accolades, they now reflect on nearly four decades of innovations – and bid farewell with one last unforgettable performance.

Since 2001, the International A-cappella Week Hannover has been delighting the vibrant choral scene of the city and its surroundings for nearly a quarter of a century. Founded by Sandra van de Loo and Roger Cericius, the festival quickly evolved from a one-time event to an annual highlight, with only a pause in 2020/21 due to the pandemic. Each year, established names in the a cappella world meet aspiring newcomers here, showcasing themselves and their talents in concerts that couldn’t be more diverse. Additionally, exciting workshops and masterclasses during the festival create new musical collaborations that sustainably enrich the regional cultural landscape. To date, over 200 concerts featuring several thousand international artists have been presented, captivating around 100,000 visitors from around the world. After over 100 very successful performances in the UK, the legendary frontman of STATUS QUO brings his new show titled “An Evening of Francis Rossi's Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and More...” to Europe.
In May 2026, Francis, who has always had a large fan base here, is also coming to Germany.

The ten German shows will feature songs he has never played in this format before. The evening with Francis Rossi offers – alongside the most important QUO classics – backstage stories from first-hand. Francis shares stories of his over 100 performances on Top Of The Pops, the legendary opening of the Live Aid concert in 1985, his life with Rick Parfitt, the hits, the other stars of the industry, and the mishaps around the world. All of this is spiced up with Francis's famous wit and British humor.

On the ‘An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and more...’ tour, the living rock legend will play many of his signature hits that made Quo famous. In addition, Francis will present some of his personal favorite songs and share exciting stories from his incredible life in the music circus.
Think you know Francis? No, not quite...!
The story begins with the first hit ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ (1968) and continues to this day. Francis will mainly play on his Acoustasonic guitar, which, as he says, “is essentially a Telecaster, but better suited for a show like this – it still has the sound and voice of a Tele.”
Perhaps the last word, as always, should belong to Francis Rossi himself: "You know what? I really love this. Finally, I can do what I've always wanted to do, which is just play, without cranking the volume up to '11'. It has taken my whole career to hold back and really just be. I let the songs speak for themselves."

His area of expertise: nearly hopeless murder cases. When no way out seems possible, Mark Benecke is called. Every crime scene is a treasure trove of evidence. They are not visible at first glance, but his helpers, the maggots and flies, can provide important answers. It's not death that is Benecke's job, but life after death. When maggots expose the murderer, Benecke has done everything right. Even the smallest organisms on the corpse can provide the crucial clue for clarification. There is no perfect murder, because insects never sleep.

Word acrobat and pianist, actor and comedian: A common thread of wordplay and musical joy runs through Bodo Wartke's diverse repertoire. Few German-speaking artists present themselves as versatile as the Berlin resident. It's no wonder that Bodo Wartke's shows are award-winning. Sometimes humorous, sometimes socially critical, he wins the hearts of his audience.

His trademarks are the unusual, yet highly musical rhymes combined with catchy and sophisticated music. For him, language is always also music, and music gives structure to language. Bodo Wartke employs his skills for a wide variety of themes – from playful rhyme studies to complex love songs to political and socially critical chansons.

With his self-composed and written songs, he has already created six piano cabaret programs as a soloist; additionally, there are two more best-of programs with orchestras and one with his band. Furthermore, he has released two modern adaptations of ancient dramas, in which he also performs as an actor: King Oedipus and Antigone after Sophocles.

Whether tap dance numbers or poems, hits or freshly interpreted Mozart sonatas: Wartke's musical repertoire knows no bounds. The artist also dances on many weddings thematically. With "David Bowie Symphony," an ambitious concert project celebrates the icon in a grand, contemporary way: orchestral sound and rock band merge into an electrifying live experience that makes the visionary's work audible and tangible again – respectful, detail-oriented, and with great emotional depth.

The production is the symphonic extension of "Mr. Bowie – The Reality Show" by singer Milan Devinne. Known for his extraordinary vocal range and authentic approach to Bowie's musical universe, Devinne brings new brilliance to classics like "Space Oddity," "Heroes," "Life on Mars?" or "Let’s Dance." The arrangements emphasize the dramatic power of the songs without altering their DNA – a homage with heart, precision, and great respect.
