A very old man with enormous wings

Object Theater based on the work of Gabriel García Márquez

Two storytellers find a strange figure in their kitchen: a very old man, lying filthy on the floor and unable to move his enormous wings. The neighbor says he is an angel. The priest is of another opinion: the man must be an impostor since he doesn’t speak Latin. The stranger, who has been put into the chicken coop for the moment, becomes the sensation of the town and unleashes a wave of pilgrims: some hope to be healed, others just want to have a look. But they leave the village different from how they arrived.
Dan Colley’s productions uses the power of object theater and tells the short story by Gabriel García Márquez with objects and puppets made from kitchen utensils. In doing so, they create a poetic space on the search for the beauty of the text and its emotional richness that opens up basic questions about human imagination.

Game Theater

Can we take part in the economic system game? Or are we just pieces being moved around the board? Do we have the opportunity to create changes through our decisions?
Trickster-p, a regular part of Theater der Dinge, are back again! After exciting the Berlin audience with a performative board game three years ago, they are offering up a playful model for society with "The Game". In doing so, they expose economic dynamics and organizational structures: in small groups, the participants establish their own farms on the playing board. The refined rules of the game provide an introduction to the conditions of modern economies and force the players to forge a path between profit maximization and ecological and ethical values.

Hyperrealistic miniature puppet theater

Megan is living the so-called American Dream – everything is possible; you just have to want it. When she receives a luxury trip to outer space for her birthday, her biggest wish finally comes true. From the distance of outer space, however, the contradictions of the conflicted planet Earth appear more clearly to her than she had expected. Her belief that all human beings have the same opportunities to succeed begins to crumble. Puppentheater Klaipėda creates a brilliant satire and asks if space travel is not ultimately just a way to run away from the problems that we have ourselves created.

Divadlo Alfa invites the audience into a courtroom: the defendant is the largest energy company in the world, accused of culpability for one of the most disastrous environmental catastrophes in recent memory. But to what extent is the uncontrollable power of the fossil fuel industry and the deadly entanglement of greed and systemic negligence supported by our consumerism and our dependence on the industry? Transport: Tipping Point is captivating documentary theater. Inspired by the real case of an exploding offshore platform in the USA, the production reflects upon a world in which nature fights for survival against the inexorable logic of capitalism.
