Alte Bekannte undoubtedly belong to the most extraordinary phenomena in the concert scene. The quintet celebrates their German-language A-Cappella songs with an unparalleled authenticity, where EVERYTHING! is generated exclusively with human voices, including the rhythmic accompaniment. At the same time, Alte Bekannte continue a long-standing tradition since their successful start in 2018 as the legitimate successors of the disbanded Wise Guys, as two original Wise Guys singers, Daniel 'Dän' Dickopf and Björn Sterzenbach, are also founding members of Alte Bekannte.
The stage is for Alte Bekannte what one would call "their natural habitat," a place where the musicians feel particularly at home. This feeling automatically transfers to the audience, as the band's concerts are experiences for all the senses. Alte Bekannte deliver a highly emotional show that goes far beyond mere music listening and turns every performance into a communal experience between the band and the audience.
Since the end of the lockdown in July 2021, Alte Bekannte have played well over 160 concerts. Their successful 2023 tour (motto: 'Nix geht über LIVE!') will be continued in 2024 with unchanged high intensity. In their shows, they present a multitude of their own songs – currently focusing on the new fourth album 'Stabil' (2023; 23rd place in the German album charts) – as well as some unforgettable Wise Guys classics.
Dän Dickopf has happily recovered from his illness. In December 2021, the popular singer suffered a severe stroke, spent two months in the hospital followed by rehabilitation, and fought his way back to the stage with iron will. "The music and my colleagues have given me a lot of support and strength," reflects the musician on those difficult days. Seeing Dän Dickopf after this encouraging recovery with Alte Bekannte on the extensive 2024 tour fits what Björn Sterzenbach reveals about the atmosphere of the current program: "There is music and lyrics to dream about, to think about, sometimes to shed tears over, and in the end, everyone in the hall will dance without restraint! Concerts by Alte Bekannte are a play of music, close communication between us and our fans, including a shared good time for everyone present!" Anyone who wants to see this for themselves should definitely visit the band on their 'Nix geht über live!' tour – because on stage, Alte Bekannte is the ultimate concert experience! In addition to their favorite task of live concerts, Alte Bekannte are enthusiastically dedicating this year to recording two new albums! In the fall, the long-awaited Christmas album will finally be released, and just in time for the start of the new live program at the beginning of 2025, the band's fifth studio album is set to be released.
