The Bernstein Trio was founded in 2022 and consists of Roman Tulchynsky (violin), Marei Schibilsky (cello), and Julia Stephan (piano). Julia Hülsmann Quartet - "Under the surface"

The bustling Berlin pianist and composer is an integral part of the German jazz scene.

For nearly 30 years, she has been performing with the award-winning Julia Hülsmann Trio, playing her compositions often based on lyrical works. She enjoys inviting international guests to join her. Her album Scattering Poems (2003, ACT Music) featuring the Norwegian singer Rebekka Bakken spent several weeks in the German jazz top-ten and won the German Jazz Award in Gold. In the meantime, she has expanded the trio to the Julia Hülsmann Quartet.
In Lindau, the quartet will present their new release “Under the surface” published by ECM – however, without the trumpeter Hildegunn Øiseth, but as a pure quartet with Uli Kempendorff on tenor saxophone, Marc Muellbauer on bass, and Heinrich Köbberling on drums – a vibrant four-part sound.

Das Château Palmer beherbergt Ende Mai und Anfang Juni drei Musiker für vier Tage in einem geschichtsträchtigen und handwerklich geprägten Rahmen. Es ist eine Zeit, in der die Weinberge blühen und die zarten Prozesse der Natur die Entstehung von Musik widerspiegeln. Lars Danielsson leitet dieses Projekt nach dem Erfolg des Eröffnungsduos von Michael Wollny und Joachim Kühn. Er sieht dies als eine Gelegenheit, eine neue Formel zu erforschen: ein Trio mit John Parricelli an der Gitarre und dem finnischen Trompeter Verneri Pohjola, aufgenommen in einem Salon ohne Studiobarrieren, nur reines, intimes Musizieren.
