Choro Tuiuiú und Yara Linss - Brasilianische Lebensfreude – Open Air Konzert
Together with the Nuremberg ensemble "Choro Tuiuiú," the German-Brazilian singer Yara Linss brings the joy of "Choro" to the stage. The irresistible lightness of this music, which originated in Rio de Janeiro, was discovered by the award-winning jazz singer as a young girl in her mother's record collection. To this day, it remains an important source of inspiration for her own compositions.
The musical style of "Choro," which emerged in the second half of the 19th century through the fusion of European salon music and African rhythms, is characterized by complex and virtuosic melodies and fast rhythms. Previously played exclusively instrumentally, it has gradually been enriched by vocals.
The five musicians of "Choro Tuiuiú," together with Yara Linss, who also teaches singing at the Schwabach municipal music school, bring the sounds of Rio's pubs and bars to life, giving them a personal touch with their own compositions and arrangements.
