Roxette - Live – Back Again
When Roxette returned to the stages in South Africa and Australia in early 2025, they were loudly celebrated for their sensational comeback. The press described the show as a "top contender for the best live show of the year" (Sheldon Ang Media) and as a "reminder of what live music should be" (Music Festivals Australia), while over 75,000 people felt and sang along to their iconic anthems in an electrifying atmosphere. A series of sold-out summer shows later, the duo founded by Per Gessle has taken the world by storm again with their new singer Lena Philipsson. Celebrated as a vibrant celebration of Roxette's timeless hits, ranging from "The Look" and "Listen To Your Heart" to "Joyride" and "It Must Have Been Love" – which recently surpassed the 900 million stream mark on Spotify – Roxette's songs unite generations of fans. With energy, nostalgia, and heartfelt moments driven by a large, cheering audience, the magic of Roxette’s music shines through Gessle’s distinctive songwriting and Philipsson's powerful voice in a new light on stages around the world. Following six concerts in Germany in November 2025, Roxette returns under the motto Live – Back Again with open-air dates for the summer of 2026. In addition to the NDR Open Air in Hanover, Roxette will perform at the Biggesee Open Air in Olpe, the Domplatz in Fulda, the Coburg Castle Square, the Palace Garden in Schwetzingen, and the Bonn Kunst!Rasen. In Switzerland, the duo will be live at the Summerdays Festival in Arbon and the Seaside Festival in Spiez.
Roxette undeniably belongs to the soundtrack of the 1990s with their global hits and has sold over 80 million records to date, receiving platinum awards worldwide. In Sweden, the duo led by Per Gessle and singer Marie Fredriksson has been successful since their debut album "Pearls of Passion" (1986), while "Look Sharp!" made the band well-known globally in 1988. This was followed by "Joyride" (1991), "Tourism" (1992), "Crash! Boom! Bang!" (1994), "Have A Nice Day" (1999), and "Room Service" (2001) – all number-one albums in Sweden. In the 2000s, the band confronted several breaks due to Fredriksson's illness but returned in 2011 with the number-one album "Charm School." This was followed by "Travelling" (2012) and "Good Karma" (2016) and ultimately the health-related end of touring for Fredriksson. In 2019, the singer lost her long battle with cancer, leaving a significant void in the Swedish music scene, which lost one of its greatest voices. However, with Roxette's legacy, a part of the singer continues in the overall work of the band and is still celebrated worldwide – also because Per Gessle has reignited the flame together with Lena Philipsson – one of Sweden's most beloved and dynamic voices – bringing Roxette's legacy back on tour with a new era for the band. The duo is supported by longtime Roxette collaborators and world-class musicians such as Christoffer Lundquist, Magnus Börjeson, Magnus "Norpan" Eriksson, Dea Norberg, as well as Roxette legends Clarence Öfwerman and Jonas Isacsson.
